Winthrop, Washington

Hoh Rain Forest
This lush forest within Olympic National Park gets more than 140 inches of rain every year, resulting in a canopy of hardwoods and evergreens, while the understory is thick with moss and ferns. It’s thebest example of a temperate rainforest in the United States. The aptly named Hall of Mosses Trail forms a sub-mile loop through the heart of the forest.
Mount Rainier National Park
Mount Rainier stands out. Rising 14,410 feet above sea level, the active volcano is an iconic symbol of Washington’s rugged terrain.
